Class Description

DOMINANT DOGS CLASS
The Dominant Dogs class is a remedy class designed for the dog who consistently over-reacts to the presence of other dogs and/or people with loud barking, lunging, and disruptive behavior.  The Dominant Dogs class is for the dog that simply can't relax in the presence of other dogs or people and expresses itself in a confident, aggressive manner. Dominant Dogs class is also for the dog that has shown aggression toward humans in the form of growling, snapping, or biting, but not because of fear.  The class is aimed at re-establishing leadership for the handler using operant conditioning and humane techniques (not brute force or physical punishment).   It is also designed to empower the handler to teach the dominant dog to successfully walk through a room with other people and dogs present while paying attention to the handler. 

  • This class is held indoors and is taught by a Master Level Instructor.

  • Dogs should be at least 5 months of age.

  • Each class is 45 minutes in length.

 

Class Details
Class: Raleigh Location: Tuesday evenings, 7:30-8:15 pm
Cary Location: Monday evenings, 7:30-8:15 pm

PLEASE NOTE: THIS CLASS WILL CONSIST OF AN ORIENTATION,
AN INDIVIDUAL CONSULTATION, AND THEN 4 WEEKS OF CLASSES WITH DOGS. CONSULTATIONS WILL TAKE TWO WEEKS TO COMPLETE, SO PLEASE ALLOW 7 WEEKS FOR THIS CLASS TO BE COMPLETED.
Tuition: $145
Maximum # Students: 4
Session:

  • 6 wks total

  • 1st week of class is orientation with out the dogs. 

  • 2nd week of class is a 30 min. private consultation with the instructor.

  • There will be a one week break in classes to allow for all consultations to occur.

  • Each class is 45 minutes in length.
Location: Indoor North Raleigh location
Pre-Requisites:
  • Pre-registration with proof of vaccinations & pre-payment is required. 
  • Please note:   These classes sometimes fill up more than a month ahead of start date. Please register early.  If you are unable to get into a class, please consider an in-home obedience consultation.
  • Proof of vaccinations or titers must be brought to first class. 
  • Dogs should be at least 5 months of age.
  • Please note that only adult handlers are allowed in our Fearful Fidos and Dominant Dogs class due to the nature of the behavior of the dogs in the class.
  • Teamworks is closed for Easter Weekend, Memorial Day weekend, 4th of July, Labor Day weekend, the week of Thanksgiving, and 2 weeks from Christmas through New Years.

  • Class schedules subject to be changed and extended due to severe weather conflicts and due to occasional conflicts in instructor's schedule.  Your instructor will notify you of any schedule changes. Severe weather related cancellations will be posted on voice mail at
