Teamworks Behavior Modification Class

Control Unleashed Class

The class is based on the program Control Unleashed created by Leslie McDevitt. The goal of the class is to provide you with the tools to work with your dog to increase their focus in exciting situations and help them relax in times of stress.

Goals:
Control Unleashed is not designed to be a substitute for an obedience and / or CGC class and the ultimate goal is *not* to be able to walk around in public without a leash. Instead we are looking to instill confidence in you and your dog so that your dog will not disengage from you in times of stress. This will allow you and your dog to work towards your ultimate goals together be it in competition or in your neighborhood. Problem-behavior trouble-shooting and active, participatory classes. Your dog should have already taken a basic manners class of some type where sit, down, come were taught. If you have never taken a class like this, please consider the Canine Good Citizen Class or the Distraction Proofing Class.

Pre-Reqs:

Dog should have taken Puppy Class, Canine Good Citizen class, or its equivalent

Behaviorally healthy dog or graduate of Fearful Fidos, Dominant Dogs, or Leash Manners Class

This class is not for the dog who growls and lunges (please see Dominant Dogs) or the dog who cowers, back up, and barks (please see Fearful Fidos) at strangers or other dogs. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOUR DOG DISPLAYS THESE BEHAVIORS AT HOME OR AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD, PLEASE SIGN UP FOR AN IN-HOME BEHAVIORAL CONSULTATION FIRST, TO BE SURE THE HOME ENVIRONMENT IS SET UP FOR THE DOG TO SUCCEED.

Dogs must be at least 6 months of age at the start of class. No upper age limit.

All dogs must have Rabies and DHPP vaccinations or titers. Proof of vaccinations or titers must be brought to first class. Dogs without proof of vaccinations or titers will not be able to participate. Pre-registration and pre-payment required.

Pre-registration with pre-payment is required.

Due to the nature of this class, we ask that only adult handlers attend class.

Tuition: $145

Duration: Once a week for 7 total weeks
