Tracking is a fun sport for you and your dog to enjoy!

 

Class Descriptions
Intro to AKC Tracking This course will focus more specifically on an introduction to AKC Competition Tracking.  A materials fee of $15 is added to the class fee for for-time students and includes 2 training flags, an AKC Tracking regulations book, a notebook, and instructional material. 

Handlers are expected to provide:

  • A non-restrictive harness
  • 30-40' training lead
  • A compass
  • Articles & article bag

AKC Competition Tracking Pre-requisite:  Intro to AKC Tracking

This course will prepare the handler and dog team for competition.  There is no material fee for this class.

Class Details

TRACKING CLASSES
Tuition:

$105.00 for a 6-week class

$15 materials fee added to Intro to AKC Tracking Class
(fee will be due at first class for first-time students only)
Requirements: Each first-level class is a pre-requisite for the second-level class at the same location.  Students with previous tracking experience will be asked to contact the instructor for an evaluation.
Pre-requisite: All dogs must have a Canine Good Citizen title or approval of the instructor to enter the first level class at either location. 
Age:
  • No upper age limit. 
  • Dogs should already know sit/stay, down/stay, come when called and should be able to walk on a loose leash.
Classes:
  • One hour class, for six weeks
  • Intro:  Saturday mornings, 10:00-11:00am
                Monday mornings, 10:00-11:00am
  • Competition :   Saturday mornings, 9:00-10:00am
                                 Monday mornings, 9:00-10:00am
  • Class size: maximum of 6 students
