Our mission:  To provide a non-traditional, skills-based agility venue that allows people to submit dog agility performances for review by video. To give reactive or distracted dogs an equal chance to show off their agility skills, and recognition for the people who love and patiently work with them.

What
we are

  • An equal-opportunity venue for fearful, reactive, or highly distracted dogs to demonstrate their agility skills

  •  An organization that welcomes all dogs, regardless of breed or mix of breeds

    ·         An organization that welcomes dogs with disabilities, including deaf dogs, vision-impaired (but not completely blind) dogs, and dogs with three limbs

    ·          A possible option for people experiencing public appearance anxiety

    ·         A possible starting point for dogs who may one day also enter traditional agility trials

    ·          A possible option for people who live long a long distance away from trial sites

    • A much more economical option for those experiencing financial hardships!

  • An organization that places emphasis on skills and achievement recognition, rather than on speed and competition

What
we are NOT
  • A substitute or replacement for traditional agility competitions or sanctioning organizations

·         An organization that offers placements within a class based on speed

·         An organization that excludes or “labels” a dog!  The virtual Agility League is not mutually exclusive with other agility organizations.  You and your dog can compete in the Virtual Agility League , and also be simultaneously competing in sanctioned agility events, if you choose!

  How it works

  • After your dog has reached the skill level of competency on all obstacles for Beginner level, you should ask your instructor to submit an agility facility approval form

·         You  enter a monthly Virtual Agility League test online and receive a course map.

  • 3 ROUNDS OF STANDARD COURSES, JUMPERS COURSES, SNOOKER COURSES, & PERFECT-50 COURSES  WILL BE OFFERED PER MONTH. YOU CAN CHOOSE THE COURSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO RUN!

·         With the help of your instructor or an experienced agility competitor, you set up the agility course at an approved agility facility

·         You perform the course with your dog and have the run video-taped

·         You submit the video for review on your own YouTube website and send the URL to us

·         We review the video and verify that the performance meets the criteria for qualifying

·         You receive a qualifying score and be mailed a rosette and prize for a performance that is free from faults and adheres to all regulations

·         After 3 qualifying scores at a particular level, you will be mailed a title certificate and title ribbon may compete at the next level in the next competition.
Medals will be awarded for the Expert level, large 3-color rosettes are given for the Exceptional level, and trophies are given for the VALOR-DICTORIAN level titles.

·        Note:   If your dog is reactive, you and your dog should consult with a Certified Canine Behavior Counselor to work on your dog’s reactivity issues as a very first step.  Group classes like our Dominant Dogs or Fearful Fidos or Leash Manners & Polite Greetings  are highly recommended.  A Control Unleashed Class is also highly recommended as a pre-requisite for distracted dogs.   Following this type of self-control training, the handler and the dog should seek a Reactive Dogs Agility Class or private agility lessons with a qualified instructor who has experience working with reactive dogs.  It is recommend that all dogs competing in the Virtual Agility League be given the benefit of professional agility instruction.
